The Golden Raspberry Awards or Razzies were created by John Wilson in 1980, intended to complement the Academy Awards by dishonoring the worst acting, screenwriting, songwriting, directing, and films that the film industry had to offer.
The term "raspberry" is used in its irreverent sense, as in "blowing a raspberry." In Cockney rhyming slang, "raspberry" means flatulence, "raspberry tart" rhyming with "fart".
It was awarded in 2003 to Travis Payne for "Distinguished Under-Achievement in Choreography" in the film From Justin to Kelly.

CNN.com - And the worst movie of the year is ... - Mar 5, 2006
Last year's awards earned a lot of press for the surprise appearance of a good-natured Halle Berry, who came clutching her Oscar and accepted the Razzie for "Catwoman." And a couple years ago Ben Affleck was honored with a Razzie, but apparently didn't show because he wasn't told by his representative.
After Affleck ripped the organization for not sending him his award -- a gold-spray-painted raspberry atop a reel of Super 8 film, valued at $4.97, according to the organization -- he was presented with the Razzie on CNN's "Larry King Live," according to Wilson.
Upon which Affleck broke the award, which was recovered by the Head Berry after the show.

He was allowed to join the army, serving with the Grenadier Guards, and although Edward expressed a willingness to serve on the front lines, the British government refused to allow it, citing the immense harm that the capture of the heir to the throne would cause.
Despite this Edward witnessed at first hand the horror of trench warfare, and attempted to visit the front line as often as he could, leading to his award of the Military Cross in 1916.
His role in the war, although limited, led to his great popularity among veterans of the conflict.
