The U.S. has won the team Silver Medal in the last three Pan American Games after winning Gold in 1983.
Pan American Games Dressage is competed at the Intermediaire I level (as opposed to the Grand Prix level competed in the Olympics) and the U.S. is a strong medal contender.
The USET is a non-profit organization that officially represents the United States in international competition, and carries the responsibly for selecting, training, equipping and financing equestrian teams of the highest possible standard to compete for the U.S. in Pan American and Olympic Games, World Championships and other major international events.

The 1983 United States team viewed the Pan American Games as an opportunity to return the U.S. to the top of women's basketball.
Scoring 100 points or more in four of its five games, the 1983 U.S. team averaged 103.8 ppg., and won its five games by an average of 33.6 points a game.
The 1983 US A team consisted of the same players who had represented the USA and finished second at the 1983 World Championship (July 24 - August 6) in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

In the 1983 Pan American Games the 18-year-old reliever saved the final game, as Canada took gold from the favored U.S. After graduating from the University of Nebraska, she stayed active in the game through three world championships and two more Pan Ams, where her teams picked up a silver and a bronze.
In 1990, at 17, he was selected for the Commonwealth Games in New Zealand but lost in the first round.
By 1984 she was already a veteran on the squad that finished a frustrating fourth at the Los Angeles Games.
