Fred Lieb used to be the most prolific book-writing baseball author of all time, but Honig has overtaken him and is lengthening his lead with every copyright.
The two works mentioned most often were The MacMillan Baseball Encyclopedia and Lawrence Ritter's The Glory of Their Times.

The Baltimore Orioles were the fourth team in World Series history to lose the opening game then sweep their opponent during the next four (4) contests.

 1983 Cobber Baseball
The Concordia baseball team extended their 1983 season an extra three games when they were invited to participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Midwest Regional Baseball Tournament held May 25-26 at Oshkosh, Wis.
Entering the tournament with a 12-6 conference record and 19-12 overall, the Cobbers were stopped with two losses in three games during the double elimination playoff.
During the conference season, Helmeke finished third in the MIAC with a.444 batting average and topped the conference with eight doubles.
