| | Edsa I & II: Fake people power |
 | | In the case of Ferdinand Marcos, the criteria observed by the church in egging the populace, on Feb. 2, 1986, were the lack of a popular mandate for the dictator, widespread corruption and violations of human rights. |
 | | First, the criteria for church repeated intrusions into the realm of the temporal — during the Edsa revolt of 2001, the ouster of President Joseph Estrada (which I adamantly refuse to dignify with the appellation Edsa II) and the numerous coup attempts in-between. |
 | | The promise that brought people out to Edsa for that event was that the economy would improve, the dollar would be more affordable and that corruption would disappear, all these just by changing presidents. |
