Formula One, abbreviated to F1, and also known as Grand Prix racing, is the highest class of single-seat open-wheel formula auto racing in the world.
The F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, held in most cases on purpose-built circuits, and in a few cases on closed city streets.
In later years, notably 1987, the Formula One turbo cars produced in excess of 1,100 HP in racing trim (and as much as 1,400 HP in qualifying trim).

In 1996 he had another difficult season scoring an early 6th place at Argentina but failing to score any more points as the ddvelopment of the car was halted with the sale of the team to Tom Walkinshaw.

His father, boat racing legend Bill Seebold, got him a Kitson Craft to race in the Sport G class "at a one-hour marathon nationals somewhere in Ohio." He was a kid racing against a field of adults, but still he came home the winner.
In 1987 and 1988 he competed in both the American and European UIM (Union of International Motorboating) Formula One series.

No one had ever started a Formula One World Championship campaign with four straight victories, and for the rest it was more than demoralizing.
The balance of the 1991 season would see a fruitless quest by Mansell and Williams to catch Senna, including a disqualification while leading at Estoril after a wheel fell off in the middle of pit road.

At the end of the season, in October 1987, Mika competed in a FF 2000 Marlboro test-day at Donington.
Jean Alesi and Volker Weidler were chosen to drive Formula 3000, Eddie Irvine and JJ Letho to drive Formula 3 and Allan McNish and Mika Häkkinen to drive the Vauxhall Lotus Challenge in 1988.
That this was not the fastest combination of the field became clear at the end of the season when Mika finished 7th with 18 points.

As one Formula One season gives way to the next in Suzuka, Japan, about the most exciting news in Formula One circles is also from the Pacific (wheel) Rim: the full-fledged return of Honda to Formula One as a Constructor in the Year 2000.
It is ironic, given the relatively disappointing 1966 season Honda had, that the quasi-Honda cars of that era are in a sense immortalized in the movie "Grand Prix", which was filmed by John Frankheimer during the 1966 Formula One season, when Honda in actuality only competed in three races.
The 1967 and 1968 seasons were basically sub-contracted to John Surtees, who threw everything he (and Lola) had at the project to deliver a winning car, but with little to show for it, except for a stunning second (and the last Honda) victory in 1967 at Monza.
