		Labatt was the title sponsor from 1980 to 2000.
		On September 10, 2004, the CCA announced that Tim Hortons would be the new title sponsor, beginning with the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier in Edmonton, Alberta.

		One of the legacies of hosting the Labatt Brier in 1989 was a fund that was set aside to assist with attracting national and international events.

		The last time this burgh hosted the Labatt Brier (1989), a transplanted Manitoban named Pat Ryan won it representing Alberta.
		Now another transplanted Manitoban is poised to hoist the Labatt Tankard representing B.C. Greg McAulay, who was born in Winnipeg and lived in Selkirk, defeated New Brunswick's Russ Howard 5-3 in the third-versus-fourth playoff game at SaskPlace last night.
