Labatt was the title sponsor from 1980 to 2000.
On September 10, 2004, the CCA announced that Tim Hortons would be the new title sponsor, beginning with the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier in Edmonton, Alberta.

One of the legacies of hosting the Labatt Brier in 1989 was a fund that was set aside to assist with attracting national and international events.
In addition to hosting future events, it was also determined that there was a need to promote curling at the recreational level.

That means Yukon (deaf club) is the first host in any national level curling championships (like Brier, Scotts Tournament of Hearts, Mixed champ and Junior champs).
