Mats Johan Sundin (born February 13, 1971, in Bromma, Sweden) is a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Originally drafted by the Quebec Nordiques with the first pick in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft (from the Swedish Elite League club Djurgården), Sundin was the first European in league draft history to be chosen with the first overall selection.
Sundin is widely recognized as one of the top players in the world in these international competitions, and has added a highly impressive list of accomplishments to his credentials as a result of his outstanding performance in the 2002 Winter Olympics and 2004 World Cup of Hockey.

Draper was selected 62nd overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets and on October 4, 1990, he made his NHL debut with a goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
After playing two more NHL games that season, he then played ten games with the Jets in 1991-92 and following another seven NHL games the following season, Draper was then traded on June 30, 1993 to the Detroit Red Wings.
Upon his arrival with the Wings, Draper quickly became recognized as one of the fastest skaters in the league and one of its premier penalty killers.

In the sixth round of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft, the 113th player taken overall, by the Vancouver Canucks was a young player named Pavel Bure from the Central Red Army in Russia.
In 1989 and 1990 he won the gold medal.In 1989 he was named the Soviet League Rookie of the Year, and as well on the ALL STAR TEAM at the World Junior Hockey Championships that year.
In 1993-94 he scored 60 goals for the second-straight year, making him the eighth player in NHL history to accomplish that feat (the other players to do that were Phil Esposito, Mike Bossy, Jari Kurri, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, and Mario Lemieux).
