Formula Three proved an even harder nut to crack, for although he finished third overall at his first attempt, it took four full years before he moved on to Formula Two for 1983, with an ORECA-run Martini.
This form earned him a drive with Ferrari for 1959, and he stared his second season with the Italian team by finishing second in the Argentinian Grand Prix, but he was thrown from his car in practice at Monaco and broke an arm, leaving him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.

The rapid arrival and intervention of the medical car and Professor Sid Watkins was loudly, and rightly, hailed as being crucial to Donnelly’s survival, and the circuit was never used in the same form again, however questions of the safety of the cars were, in hindsight, never seriously addressed.
1990 had been another round in the bitter feud between Prost and Senna, and it would be the last time the two would fight for the championship in equal machinery.

Formula 1 was in the middle of the turbo revolution and Williams did a deal with Honda.
The 1984 season was frustrating as the engines were under development but in 1985 with Rosberg being joined by Nigel Mansell things began to get better and by the end of the year the Williams-Honda was unbeatable.

His season was plagued by retirements but at the Monaco Grand Prix while everyone else was spin off the track Barrichello kept it on the track and he finished third but he was later upgraded to second because of Michael Schumacher being disqualified from the championship.

He was competing in Formula 3 races in 1964 and five days after he won his first race on the circuit, he was offered a Formula One ride - which he turned down because he felt he wasn't ready.
