Joe Juneau - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Originally drafted by the Bruins in the fourth round of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, Juneau was a star college hockey player at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he scored 71 goals in four regular seasons and was a two-time All-American selection.
That flurry was Juneau's last brush with stardom, and his numbers much diminished from their peak, he was oft-traded, playing for five teams in four season before settling with his hometown Montreal Canadiens as a third-liner for the final three seasons of his career.
Juneau went to the NHL right after the Olympics and never spent a day in the minor leagues in his career.

Although Northern California was a hotbed of hockey in the latter part of the Original Six era, starting with the 1967 season, the first attempt to bring NHL hockey to the region was a dismal failure.
For their third season, 1993-94, the Sharks moved to their current home, the HP Pavilion (known as the San Jose Arena until 2001).
The NHL vetoed the move, but as a compromise allowed the Gunds to dissolve the North Stars-Barons merger and take some of the North Stars players to the Bay Area.
