On closer inspection though, this is no picture from a Grand Prix weekend (the dolly bird holding the lollipop gives that much away) as the picture is from the Jerez circuit which has not held a Grand Prix for years.
In their Chinese Grand Prix preview they inform us that Takuma Sato was penalised 10 grid places in Japan for shunting Michael Schumacher out of the Italian Grand Prix.
Grand Prix Diary checked the FIA’s sporting regulations and found nothing to forbid an invisible car, although General Safety Regulation 90, which says ‘Any driver intending to leave the track should signal his intention to do so clearly to other competitors and in good time’ could be the teams only stumbling block.

The circuit, owned by the Real Automovil Club de Catalunya was built at great expense in the hope of bringing the Spanish Grand Prix back to its spiritual home, after several races had been staged at Jerez and Jarama.
The circuit won exclusive rights to the Grand Prix in the backlash surrounding Martin Donnelly's near fatal accident at Jerez in 1990.
Another wet race in 1996 saw another win for Schumacher, but this victory was all the sweeter as it was his first for Ferrari and came after a race run in torrential conditions.

Lorenzo celebrated his 15th birthday on the second day of qualifying for the Grand Prix and was therefore not allowed to ride on the first day of qualifying.
The youngest rider to score points is Ivan Palazzese, who finished on the podium at the Venezuelan Grand Prix in 1977 when under the official age limit at that time.
