In 1996 the name of the event was changed from the Extreme Games to the X Games.
The X Games remained in Rhode Island for 1996 and in 1996 ESPN announced that the first annual Winter X Games would take place in February of the following year.
At the moment I only have results of the aggressive inline skating competition but I am trying to track down the results of all events at the 1996 X Games.
