 Selected Software Architecture Papers
There is an increasing interest in the study of software architectures; however, it is still unclear which kind of formalisms and techniques should be used in their design.
It is now widely recognized that powerful architecture elements are needed for implementing highly-interactive business-oriented applications during at least two stages of the whole lifecycle, namely the specification and the design.
The flboard architecture is becoming an increasingly popular basis for the construction of problem solving systems which operate in domains requiring qualitatively different kinds of knowledge to be applied in order to arrive at a solution to a problem.

THE COGNITION AND AFFECT PROJECT 1996-1999
In particular we explore architectures involving a combination of coexisting architectural levels including: (a) reactive mechanisms which evolved very early, (b) deliberative mechanisms which evolved later in response to pressures on information processing resources and (c) meta-management mechanisms that can explicitly inspect evaluate and modify some of the contents of various internal information structures.
We conjecture that such concepts are grounded in a type of information processing architecture, and not simply in observable behaviour nor in Newell's knowledge-level concepts, nor Dennett's ``intentional stance.'' A strategy for conceptual exploration of architectures in design-space and niche-space is outlined, including an analysis of design trade-offs.
We provide some architectural considerations on how these differing forms of behaviours can be cleanly integrated and relate that to a discussion on the nature of motivational states and the mechanisms used for making decisions.

In the official lists in sections 6.2 - 6.10, an asterisk (*) next to a protocol denotes that it is new to this document or has been moved from one protocol level to another, or differs from the previous edition of this document.
While they may be proposed as a service protocol at a later stage, and thus become proposed standard, draft standard, and then standard protocols, the designation of a protocol as experimental may sometimes be meant to suggest that the protocol, although perhaps mature, is not intended for operational use.
Sometimes one protocol is replaced by another and thus becomes historic, or it may happen that a protocol on the standards track is in a sense overtaken by another protocol (or other events) and becomes historic (state 5).

Origamic Architecture (also known as origami architecture) is a papercraft form which combines the careful folding of origami, the detailed cutting of scherenschnitte, and the precise paper engineering of pop-ups.
The original concept for origamic architecture was developed in 1981 by Masahiro Chatani, a professor of architecture at the prestigious Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Many of his designs reflect his expertise in architecture, however, you don't need a background in architecture to enjoy this papercraft.

"Architectural historians of the twentieth century commonly refer to the years between the end of the World War II and the student demonstrations of 1968 as a watershed era, one in which the changing cultural circumstances forced architects to critique the increasingly consolidated ideologies of the modern movement.
In this conference scholars present papers on the architectural culture of this period, keeping as a consistent focus the interaction of discourse and practice with larger cultural and social change.
