 1999 Women's Asian Winter Games
From January 30th until February 4th, 1999 the 4th Asian Winter Games was played in Kangnun, Korea.
China placed first, winning all 3 games, while Japan was second, and Kazakhstan was third.

Kangwon provincial government announced Wednesday that it had submitted an application to host the 2010 Winter Olympics to the Korean Olympic Committee, following its successful hosting of the 1999 Winter Asian Games at Yongpyong.
Kim Jin-sun, governor of the province, said that Korea can host the Games with least expense if sporting events are held across the nation.
The IOC will determine in 2003 which country will host the 2010 Games.

With Nilsson currently heavily involved in saving professional baseball in Australia and mulling whether to play in the Olympics in 2000, some might wonder if he'll be able to focus on the 1999 season, almost certainly his last with the Brewers.
