  Report on the 19th IUBMB Congress 2003
The 19th IUBMB Congress was held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Human Proteome Organisation (HUPO) Congress in Montreal, Canada, 8-11 October 2003.
The original venue for the IUBMB Congress was to be Toronto, Canada, 20-24 July 2003, but that Congress was cancelled due to the SARS outbreak in that city in the first half of 2003.
This was certainly the case with the Montreal Congress, where the plenary speakers maintained the superlative standards that one expects to find at an International Congress of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Thus on April 14, 1941, the Founding Congress of the AKEL was convened which undertook the struggle against the British colonial yoke and fascism to gain people's democratic freedoms.
Congress of AKEL, an international meeting was held on December 9, 2000, on the topic, "The Necessity and Means to Face the New World Order." On behalf of the central committee of AKEL Andios Kypridnon, head of international relations welcomed the delegates from forty three countries.

 Our Documents - Declaration of Independence (1776)
Although the section of the Lee Resolution dealing with independence was not adopted until July 2, Congress appointed on June 10 a committee of five to draft a statement of independence for the colonies.
On July 19th, Congress ordered that the Declaration be engrossed on parchment with a new title, "the unanimous declaration of the thirteen united states of America," and "that the same, when engrossed, be signed by every member of Congress." Engrossing is the process of copying an official document in a large hand.
The engrosser of the Declaration was probably Timothy Matlock, an assistant to Charles Thomson, secretary to the Congress.

The Congress is organized by the Spanish Psychology Students' Association (CEP-PIE) under the auspices of the European Federation of Psychology Students' Associations (EFPSA).

Theoretically, the Congress is the "supreme organ of the party," reviews the work of the party leaders and sets policy.
The Congress is supposed to meet at least once every three years, but Stalin simply has not bothered to call one since 1939.
