In one way, these (metres and km2 pages) are a perfect analogy to the pages for years (1876) and dates (November 20).

But are we talking about a body of 5 metres, 20, -> 50 or 500 metres or whatever to produce a comparable effect.
So, in order to have a kinetic energy equal to the energy of the earthquake, the asteroid would have to have a mass of 1e12 kg, or a billion tons.
However, my best guess is that an asteroid a few hundred metres in diameter would produce a similar tsunami to the one that happened last Sunday.

The largest solar prominences are known as "coronal mass ejections", or CME's, and in such a prominence, the mass and velocity of ejecta are typically around 1E12 kg and 400 km/s.
Corona gas is so diffuse that you could pump a few cubic metres of the stuff into a room and nobody would even notice.
I reiterate that they may have said "corona", but the visual effects (not to mention the logic) says that they were actually talking about the chromosphere.
