2 KINGS : Elijah parted the Jordan River with his cloak (2 Kings 2:8) and then was carried by a whirlwind into heaven, following a chariot of fire (2 Kings 2:11), leaving Elisha as the main priest of "Israel" (Northern Kingdom) and with twice the prophetic power of Elijah.
Elisha anointed Jehu as king of "Israel," and Jehu had king Ahab's wife, Jezebel, killed and, as prophesied by Elijah, her body was scattered (2 Kings 9: 30-36).
In the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah, Isaiah was the prophet.

Knapp suggests that Azariah became king in an unusual manner: “He seems to have come by the throne, not in the way of ordinary succession, but by the direct choice of the people.
Except that the high places were not removed: As with Jehoash (2 Kings 12:3) and Amaziah (2 Kings 14:4), the reforms of Azariah did not reach so far as to remove these traditional places of sacrifice to the Lord.

King Hoshea becomes servant of Shalmaneser king of Assyria, but one year he does not bring tribute, so Shalmaneser puts Hoshea in prison and besieges Samaria carrying away Israel captive to Nineveh in 722 BC.
King Hezekiah reforms Israel's worship and is delivered from a siege by the Assyrians, but several of his successors revert to idolatry.

Note: This was the destruction of the original Temple, built by Solomon (see Temples), when The Ark Of The Covenant, containing the 2 tablets of stone with The Ten Commandments written on them, went missing.
Many believe that the Ark was safely hidden by its Levite (see Levites) caretakers somewhere in or near Jerusalem just prior to the Babylonian captivity, and that it will one day be found by archaeologists - a number of whom are today actively seeking it (see Temple Mount Treasures).

The Kings of Egypt were not called Pharaohs by the ancient Egyptians.
We really do not know how many kings ruled in Egypt, for at times in its ancient past the country was split up, and there were at least several kings at the same time.
There was also probably kings who ruled regions of Egypt before recorded history, and in fact, several ancient historians record legendary Pharaohs who became Egyptian gods.
