Australian women’s golf received another shot in the arm this week as Sophie Gustafson held off a charge by world number one Karrie Webb in an enthralling final round at Melbourne’s Yarra Yarra Golf Course, played out in perfect Autumn weather in front of large galleries.
From there Gustafson faltered with bogeys at the fifth and sixth, and when she was unable to match Webb’s birdies at seven and nine they commenced the back nine with Webb three behind and momentum in her favour.
Webb’s 68 was the low round of the day, not quite the 64 she shot last year with 30 on the back nine, but good enough to keep the Melbourne crowd entertained till the final putt.

Basically, she gave an interview to a paper that has never been a paper and probably never will be, but the media didn't even have the decency to spread the story that Jelena denied making the claim as far as it had spread the false story of her making the claims in the first place.
