Albert Einstein - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Einstein divorced Mileva on February 14, 1919, and married his cousin Elsa Löwenthal (born Einstein: Löwenthal was the surname of her first husband, Max) on June 2, 1919.
Einstein also assisted Erwin Schrödinger in the development of the quantum Boltzmann distribution, a mixed classical and quantum mechanical gas model although he realized that this was less significant than the Bose-Einstein model and declined to have his name included on the paper.
Einstein began to form a generalized theory of gravitation with the Universal Law of Gravitation and the electromagnetic force in his first attempt to demonstrate the unification and simplification of the fundamental forces.

Einstein, Albert. The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2001-05
Einstein lived as a boy in Munich and Milan, continued his studies at the cantonal school at Aarau, Switzerland, and was graduated (1900) from the Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich.
An ardent pacifist, Einstein was long active in the cause of world peace; however, in 1939, at the request of a group of scientists, he wrote to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to stress the urgency of investigating the possible use of atomic energy in bombs.
Einstein wished his theories to have that simplicity and beauty which he thought fitting for an interpretation of the universe and which he did not find in quantum theory.

As proposed by Einstein as a consequence of the general theory of relativity, light passing through a gravitational field is affected in a similar way.
Einstein calculated that a light ray passing very near to the Sun would bend through an angle of 1.74 arc seconds by the gravitational field.
Stars If Einstein was correct, the positions of the stars during the eclipse would be different from their positions when measured at night—by precisely 1.74 arc seconds.

He was Albert Einstein of Ulm, Germany, and Zurich, Switzerland, and Princeton, New Jersey, author of the theory of relativity and winner of the Nobel Prize.
As Einstein once said, "The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives." Something about these children at play seemed to draw Einstein back time and again to the woods on Atwood Street.
Einstein never saw Eduard after 1934, so renewing the connections to Hans Albert was an important aspect of his travels to Greenville.

Besides being a great scientist, Albert Einstein was a father of the atomic age, a passionate defender of civil liberties, an ardent pacifist, and a champion of Jewish causes.
Einstein expanded our universe by showing that not only will an observer on the yellow clock (in the article's illustration) conclude that the orange clock is ticking slower, but an observer on the orange clock will conclude that the yellow clock is ticking slower, and both will be correct!

It is named in honor of the physicist Albert Einstein.
Arthur C. Clarke joked in the postscript of his novel 3001: The Final Odyssey that he was hoping asteroid 2001 would be named after him, and was slightly miffed that Einstein got there first.

The nine actors are dressed entirely in white and off-white, and they're illuminated by clear bulbs hanging from the ceiling, which are usually powered at half-strength, producing a mild yellow light.

Miller's point is that both Einstein and Picasso discarded the empiricist view--"what you see is what you get"--in favor of the realist-intellectualist view--thinking, not seeing, leads to the truth.
Thus, as Einstein pointed out at the beginning of his 1905 relativity paper, the basic defect of classical electromagnetic theory is that it fails to give a symmetrical description of electromagnetic induction, one that is independent of the frame of reference of the observer.

The Einstein File: J. Edgar Hoover's Secret War
My students are usually surprised twice about the fact that Albert Einstein, the world's most famous scientist and the fellow who proposed the bomb to Roosevelt, was not invited to work on the Manhattan project.
Some of it has particular import today: "The flag is a symbol of the fact that man [sic] is still a herd animal." Einstein regretfully reconsidered his theoretical pacifism in the face of the Nazi onslaught he escaped.
It is significant to be reminded that Hoover's attacks on Einstein were, of course, personal, but the vilification took place in an epoch when open anti-Semitism and proto-fascist pronouncements were part of the popular discourse.

Einstein's relativity theory is central to both dynamical and energetic properties in the universe; Relativity in Our Time sets the theory in context and clarity.
The overwhelming assertion of the book is that the principle of relativity leads to a theoretical structure with tremendous predictive capacity, from the microscopic range of particle physics to the domain of the universe at large-cosmic scales.
Such important ideas as the Einstein Photon Box experiment and the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox, and Schrodinger's Cat paradox are clearly expounded, followed by a completely fresh explanation of relativity in conceptual terms, showing how apparent paradoxes can be removed by Einstein's own interpretation, especially that of his later years.
