North Carolina General Assembly members this afternoon confirmed the reappointment of Kathy A. Taft to the N.C. State Board of Education for a second eight-year term.
The State Board of Education is the chief education policy-making body in North Carolina and consists of the Lieutenant Governor, the State Treasurer and 11 members appointed by the Governor to serve eight-year terms.
She is a founding member of the Pitt County Communities in Schools program and the member of a number of civic, service and political organizations including having served on the Executive Board of Pitt County Boys and Girls Club.
