The advantage is that the European participants in World Championships have already acquired a certain expertise, which the participants from other continents do not have.
As already in 2001, the European Championships will be the first official competition where the gymnasts will present their exercises according to the new code of points.
The points for the basic composition were reduced to 2.00 and 6 points are now foreseen for "special artistic characteristics".
