The SIGGRAPH 2002 Art Gallery is celebrating the creative spirit by taking a look "behind the scenes" at the process of creating digital and electronic art.
This year, the Art Gallery is especially interested in the process that results in the work -- in how a digital artist creates.
The Art Gallery is accepting submissions that provide both the final artwork and depict the conceptual, creative, and/or technical processes involved in creating the work.

The Committee asked art conservator Jonathan Taggart to do an informal assessment of the fountain during his work in Portland last summer, and Taggart confirmed that the fountain is severely corroded and in immediate need of treatment.
The 2002 Annual Art Plan continues the commitment to conservation and maintenance by recommending the inclusion of the Lincoln Park fountain into the collection and by recommending continuation of a systematic conservation with the balance of the FY 2000 public art funds.
Public Art Committee member Peggy Golden, owner of Greenhut Galleries, is chairing the fund-raising effort for this project and intends on donating a portion of all proceeds from Greenhut Gallery’s twenty-fifth anniversary show toward this project.

In the spring of 2002, Yumi accepted a teaching position at the University of Colorado at Boulder where this fall she is working with undergraduate and graduate students in sculpture.
Siri Engberg, art history/English, '89, is currently working as associate curator at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, where she oversees a range of exhibitions on contemporary art as well as manages the museum's print study room.
She is starting the MA program in art history at the University of Pittsburgh this fall and hopes to continue to concentrate on medieval monastic architecture for women.

Mark has taught studio ceramic art and design at Sheridan School of Craft in Toronto and at Washington University’s School of Fine Art in St. Louis.

 Art in America: CAA Awards for 2002 - Artworld - College Art Association
The College Art Association recently presented its 2002 awards during its annual conference, held in February in New York.
Special awards for lifetime achievement were given to Rudolf Arnheim, a pioneer in the field of the psychology of art, and Art News publisher Milton Esterow.
The awards for the distinguished teaching of art and art history went to artist Harvey Breverman of SUNY-Buffalo and Renaissance scholar John T. Paoletti of Wesleyan University, respectively.

The trio was picked as state champions in their respective age classes for their depiction of the brook trout, Pennsylvania’s official state fish.
