The Canadian Grand Prix (known in French as the Grand Prix du Canada) is a Formula One auto race held in Canada since 1967.
The 1982 Canadian Grand Prix, already dreary because of the death of Villeneuve a month earlier, saw another horrific accident when Villeneuve's teammate Didier Pironi stalled on the grid.
Because of tobacco legislation, new venues, and a maximum of 17 races on the schedule, the Canadian Grand Prix was preliminarily removed from the 2004 F1 schedule.

Since the San Marino Grand Prix, we've had the same engine revolutions and power available over race distances as we have in qualifying, but we are continually progressing the engine's development, with the primary focus on increasing its power.

It was the 68th win of Schumacher's career, fourth of the season and took his career points tally to 999 as he heads for his home grand prix at the Nuerburgring in two weeks' time.
The Canadian former world champion, racing on the 25th anniversary of his late father Gilles's win for Ferrari at the circuit that now bears his name, retired in the pits on the 16th of 70 scheduled laps.

Michael Schumacher scored a memorable 68th Grand Prix victory in Canada when he finished just 0,7 seconds ahead of his brother Ralf after the Ferrari and BMW-Williams drivers raced within a second of each other for most of the 70-lap race.
Michael Schumacher was out on track second from last, but admitted that he had not driven a perfect lap and further commented that, even with a theoretical perfect performance, he did not think pole was within his reach today and could therefore not complain about his third place.
This, the eighth round of the season, produced the first qualifying session of the year to be run entirely in the rain and the varying amounts of water on the track threw up some interesting performances.

It’s also nice to get to go to a Grand Prix that is only a two-hour flight away and to not have to deal with jet lag and long-haul flights.
Unfortunately, it rained quite a bit during the days leading up the Grand Prix, so that put a bit of a damper on the frenzied party atmosphere that usually invades the downtown Montreal area.
I wasn’t at that particular race, but I was at the 1977 Canadian Grand Prix (at the Mosport circuit outside Toronto) where Gilles made his F1 debut with Ferrari.

Though the fourth running of the United States Grand Prix is two months away, Speedway officials wanted to make the 2004 date change official due to the event's significant impact.
In June 2003, the Canadian Grand Prix was June 15, and it traditionally follows the Monaco Grand Prix by two weeks.
