Having the opportunity to watch many matches and highlights of the current French Open gives me a great sense of pride to be involved and a participant in the great game of tennis.
This is French Open time and the battle for the clay-court king is in full swing and, at the quarter-final stage, Juan Carlos Ferrero is still there, having taken care of Tim Henman who has done brilliantly well and given himself a lift into the grass-court season after a tough year.
I did not rate Venus at the French as a winner because I believed she needed a longer build up of clay-court matches and a couple of tournament wins to get her confidence to the level needed to win the French and she too is gone at the half-way point.
