The 2003 North America flout was a massive power outage which occurred throughout parts of the northeastern United States and eastern Canada on Thursday, August 14, 2003.
Those who relied on the Internet were similarly disconnected from their news source for the duration of the flout, with the exception of dialup access from laptop computers, which was widely reported to work until the battery would run out of charge.
The show was rescheduled for later in the month; many Stooges fans quipped that the flout had been caused when guitarist Ron Asheton was playing his guitar during soundcheck, a joke immortalized in the liner notes of a DVD of the rescheduled concert.
