Review: Pro Basketball Prospectus 2003-04 Edition HOOPSWORLD.com NBA News and Information
I completely understand his unwillingness to consider a 30% three-point percentage in 1980 the same as a 38% performance, or whatever, in 2003, but at the same time I think the best three-point shooter in 1980 would probably still be a top three-point shooter if he was suddenly time-warped into 2003.
It should be clear that these two players are amazingly similar, though Francis' game leans a little more to the inside and he played a bunch more minutes last season, largely because he didn't have one of the league's best backups behind him.
There are a number of good explanations that have come up, notably that we’re still very early in the season and that offenses tend to struggle early in seasons.
