2004 AFL season - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This was the first Grand Final in the history of the AFL to be played by two non-Victorian teams; Port Adelaide's first; and the Brisbane Lions' fourth consecutive.
This was in reference to a comment made by Scott (a sponsor of the Port Adelaide Football Club) earlier in the 2004 season, in which he said the club could not win a premiership under the coaching of Williams.
The AFL Rising Star award was awarded to Jared Rivers of Melbourne.

FUTURE GAMEZ - AFL Live 2004 Review
Everyone's real focus, however, was towards AFL Live 2003 a respectable game given a short-ish development period, small development team and as the first AFL game since EA's AFL '99.
AFL Live 2004 also includes 4 new mini-games called Handball challenge, Superkick, Around the World and Elimination which are fairly basic and while teaching you the skills becomes tiresome fairly quickly.
If you love AFL then AFL Live 2004 may be worth a purchase if you have a spare $100, but those with only a minimal interest in the sport would be better served looking for a different game altogether.

 2004: year of the scandal - News - www.realfooty.com.au
It was definitely some overdue good news when the AFL - which had its public image battered through a series of sex, drug, drink and feud controversies - watched Port Adelaide win its first premiership.
It was one of those seasons for the AFL and a rigorous first year for its chief executive Andrew Demetriou, who took from Wayne Jackson.
Amid a season of controversy, ex-teammates Wayne Carey and Anthony Stevens - the two central characters in the biggest drama of 2002 - retired, as did Brisbane forward Alastair Lynch, who copped a 10-game suspension for boxing on with Port's Darryl Wakelin in the grand final.

 AFL Live 2004 XBox Review - www.impulsegamer.com -
AFL Live 2004 is created by a local software developer in Melbourne called IR Guru and with their previous hit game entitled "AFL Live 2003", the developers finally show the world what a decent Australian Rules Football game is like.
Graphically, AFL 2004 is a visual treat when compared to the previous game in the series and features extremely realistic ball physics, highly detailed stadiums that are unfortunately not licensed, extremely detailed and realistic players and new player animations.
In conclusion, AFL Live 2004 is graphically superior than its predecessor but is unfortunately riddled with bugs that should of been taken out in the testing phase of this game.

At the midway point of St. Kilda's 2004 AFL season they are more than likely planning for the finals (although they won’t admit it and thereby jinx themselves) while other teams ponder a season that is effectively over.
Even if the rest of their seasons goes a bit pear-shaped and they lose a few more games here and there, they are still going to be the team to beat.
The AFL in their financial wisdom has quickly assembled a collection of footage of St Kilda, especially now when the game is experiencing record viewing figures and supporter interest and, in St. Kilda's case, record membership numbers.

I have a theory that the AFL commission has three or four "preferred" fixtures ready and, depending on how teams do in the finals, decide on a final fixture in the week before the grand final.
