In the event that BC Hydro and BNSF were unable to come to a final agreement that would supercede the interim arrangement, BC Hydro would then pursue its application under which the Agency would rule on the terms and conditions relating to the utility crossing.
BC Hydro replies that the two-metre buffer zone is standard hydro practice and is very much in the interest of enhancing the safety of the railway and its employees.

According to BC spokesman Jack Dunn, the college has not announced specific plans for the property but anticipates that those buildings used as office space will continue to serve that function and open space will be used for intramural sports.
Though BC would have been “glad to have” the cross and the statue, the archdiocese chose not to include them in the sale, Dunn said.
Cardinal O’Connell is entombed in a small shire that sits on the land acquired by BC.  According to Dunn, the cardinal’s family and the archdiocese are currently discussing the relocation of the remains.

At the Unity annual general meeting held on September 24 and 25, 2004 in Coquitlam, the BC Unity Party was presented with another proposal of merger by the Conservatives.
BC Unity leader Chris Delaney blamed himself for the failure of the merger and resigned.
