The 2004 Nokia Brier was held at Saskatchewan Place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, from March 6 to March 14, 2004.
Most of the draws were televised live on TSN.
The brier uses the page playoff system where the top four teams with the best records at the end of round-robin play meet in the playoff rounds.

In what has to be considered one of the biggest collapses in Brier history, Ferbey gave up 6 points in the last 3 ends to lose the championship 9-8.
Leading 8-4 in the eighth end, Dave Nedohin (throwing skips rocks) missed his first shot and allowed Mark Dacey of Nova Scotia to score 3 points to close within one at 8-7.
After collecting a point in the nineth end, the Ferbey rink just had to keep a clean sheet to collect a piece of Brier history and go down as the greatest team of all time.

The allocation of the final berths for the 2005 Canadian Curling Trials and a revamped qualification system for the 2004 and 2005 Canada Cup were announced today by the Canadian Curling Association (CCA), in conjunction with the Canada Cup organizing committee from Kamloops.
The site of the 2005 Trials has yet to be determined, however, the competition will be held tentatively December 3-11, 2005, involving 10 women’s and 10 men’s teams in a round-robin preliminary followed by the top three teams in a sudden-death elimination.
The 2004 Canada Cup will send one men’s team and one women’s team to the 2005 Canadian Curling Trials; however, to earn this berth, the team(s) must finish in the top three at the conclusion of championship play.
