  Korean Film Festival, DC | 2004
All films are in color, 35mm, and in Korean with English subtitles unless otherwise indicated.
The earliest film included in this festival, A Hometown in Heart of 1948(Freer, October 3), is one of only five films that still survive from the period between the end of the Japanese occupation in 1945 and the beginning of the Korean War in 1950.
The films presented in this festival attest to the depth and breadth of that foundation.

In 2004, Comic-Con International was once again proud to present, in association with Lucasfilm Ltd. and AtomFilms.com, the Star Wars Fan Film Awards as a separate special event on Thursday night (click for details).
The entire film is comprised of 47 illustrated paintings by the filmmaker.  The paintings were completed using traditional media, scanned into the computer and then edited in After Affects.
Filmed as part of the 48-Hour Film Project, this short was proclaimed one of the Best of Austin 2003 and was the Audience Choice runner-up.

With the lack of funding and support for diverse, original, multicultural, ìurbanî films in mainstream Hollywood, the 2004 Urbanworld Film Festival was a refreshing look at the original work being independently produced in the urban community.
Of all of the comic books that were made into feature films, "Catwoman" stands out as one of the worst of them.Berry may look good enough to fit the costume, but she doesnít possess the feline bones that made Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt stand out.
Marlon and Shawn may be the leads of the film, but Terry Crews and the rest of the cast are truly funny in what may be the most underrated comedy film of the year.

Her narrative film Mariela's Kitchen won a Silver Award for Best Dramatic Short at the Houston International Film Festival, was a finalist in the Next Frame Festival, screened in festivals internationally and domestically, and aired on Fine Cut for KCET (PBS, Los Angeles) in 2001.
She was more recently the cinematographer of Witches in Exile, a film shot in Ghana, that won the Special Jury Prize at SXSW in spring 2004 and is scheduled for release later this fall.
The film, which was graciously given back to the filmmakers to distribute on their own, is a meditation on the current war in Iraq.
