In the United States the three main GM crops under cultivation are varieties of corn, soybeans, and cotton.
In 2004, as in 2003, all 14 of the top GM soy producing states planted over 70 percent of their crop with GM varieties and 12 of the 14 states planted over 80 percent.
The 2004 USDA report again shows that GM cotton continues to increase as a percent of the total cotton crop with the top seven producers accounting for 81 percent of the GM cotton grown in the U.S. Five of the seven states report over 90 percent of their cotton acreage is a GM variety.

State courts must modify policies, practices or procedures to allow participation by a person with a disability when barriers may not be otherwise eliminated; for instance, the state court may move the case to an accessible courtroom.
It required states to continue Medicaid coverage for children with disabilities who were receiving SSI benefits as of August 22, 1996 and who would have been eligible except their eligibility terminated because they did not meet the new SSI childhood disability criteria mentioned above.
The report found that states were focusing on areas such as helping people make the transition from institutions to the community; promoting affordable and accessible housing; improving the recruitment and retention of direct care workers; allowing funding to follow the individual rather than the providers; and improving transportation that complies with the ADA requirements.

The United States donation is by far the largest contribution to date to the global stockpile.
The 20 million doses of vaccine pledged by the United States will physically remain in the U.S. Strategic National Stockpile, but will be available for the WHO to use in the event of an emergency.
The last case of smallpox occurred in the United States in 1949, and the WHO declared the disease eradicated worldwide in 1980.

Very nice maps and graphics, maps are reasonably detailed, however, this atlas has a serious defect in the way it depicts the Western states: Low population states like Utah, Wyoming and Nevada are given a single page instead of the double-page that their sizes warrant.
Some atlases are very confusing, in city interchanges especially, and this one is very easy to follow.
It also shows points of interest in red along the way-- interesting tourist spots, museums,etc., that you may not have known were nearby if you are travelling through several states on vacation like we do.
