 THE MASQUERADE
Most of the album was taken up with the 35 minute title track, which at one point Steven intended to be long enough to occupy the whole album (an alternate version of the track, containing some of the excised music, was included on the 2004 remastered version of the album).
The time spent looking for a record deal had not been wasted and only a few months after the release of "Stupid Dream," the band were ready to begin work on a follow up, recorded during the transition into the new millennium and completed in February 2000.
At the time of recording, the band had no record deal, but later that year they signed to the Snapper/K-Scope label and in March of 1999, the album "Stupid Dream" was issued, supported by a lengthy tour of the UK, Italy, Greece, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, France, Poland, and the USA.

DTS Entertainment previously released the 5.1-channel surround version of the Porcupine Tree’s critically acclaimed In Absentia in March 2004, which received the 2004 Surround Music Award for Best Mix: Non-Orchestral.
Porcupine Tree made their mark across the pond in America with 1998’s Signify, followed by 1999’s Stupid Dream.
The stereo version of Deadwing is scheduled for release by Lava Records on CD on April 26th, and the track “Shallow” is currently breaking into the Active Rock chart according to Radio and Records.

IGN: Garfield: The Movie - The Purrrfect Collector's Edition Review
December 1, 2005 - The lazy and stupid movie version of the most widely-read comic strip in the world, Garfield, was one of the cinematic low points of 2004 and the DVD was about as barebones as the script, possessing only a so-so commentary track and a music video.
If they still want Garfield: The Movie, this is the version to get because you'll be able to watch the extras disc while they rot their minds with the feature.
Garfield: Bring the Cat to Life is a very good overview of the process used to bring the tubby fuzzball to inane life and the Presentation Reel is an mish-mash of odds and ends including tape of Bill Murray recording the vocals for the "New Dog State of Mind" number.

The version 4 stuff is here because, after advocating SmoothWall to the folks at work for their new ADSL lines, the ISP delivered silver SpeedTouches which wouldn't work with it and made me look stupid.
I posted about the problem and waited for a while, but nothing happened and Smoothwall went to 2.0 final with the new versions, so it was time to debug it myself.
Version 1.3.1 is now available (30-Sep-2004), this is just a Debian vulnerability fix, so no need for SmoothWall users to upgrade.

MOZART Cosi fan tutte (highlights) WARNER APEX 2564 61498-2 [PW]: Classical CD Reviews- September 2004 MusicWeb(UK)
The story, as in most operas, is stupid enough in the complete version — truncated like this it makes for an uncomfortable dramatic ride, and no matter how stupid the story might be, a complete story is always more satisfying than one with holes in it.
The choices in reducing a complete opera to a little under an hour and a quarter are always going to be arbitrary, and invariably there is much fabulous music lost.
And yet, it so often seems that whichever opera one is listening to at any time seems to be the top contender for favourite Mozart opera.

We’ve just seen too many of these stories about regret and heartbreak and redemption in the Big Apple and I’d venture to guess the success of the original 1966 Michael Caine version was that it put audiences in a time and place where they didn’t normally experience these types of movies in.
I stared in disbelief when I heard the director talking about how he actually thought it was a good idea to have those big stupid signs up in the movie; those pretentious things played a big part in me not liking this movie very much…

This insatiable quest for realism is even bleeding over into simple games like "Wheel of Fortune," where your game is interrupted every other second by computer contestants spouting stupid platitudes, or by Vanna White appearing to grin at you and show off her necklace, which looks like a belt buckle on a chain.
This is the first "Wheel of Fortune" game released on Playstation 2 and I believe this and "Jeopardy!" are the first two games released on Playstation 2 in 2004.
Believe it or not, I had a version of this game in the 1980s on a floppy disc that played better than this one -- but as I've said before, simpler most of the time is better.

That self-absorbed bastard needed the limelight focused on his book, and his book alone mind you, that this offering from Dez Dickerson was all but ignored by Slick Willy's lap dog hacks in the book and media world.

 Dead Milkmen >> Aversion.com
The Dead Milkmen took the quirky side of punk rock to its extreme, parodying the Dead Kennedys, blending amateur-sounding music, inspired by the Dead Kennedys' agitating punk, with lyrics as purposefully stupid as Biafra's were politically baiting.
Though entertaining, most of the band's work is little more than a punk rock version of Weird Al Yankovic tunes.
With songs poking fun at middle America and rock in all its forms, the Dead Milkmen honed their novelty act to a nearly professional level.

She then called out the bass player and drummer from Heart to help her tear through a blistering 10 minute version of Jimi Hendrix's "Machine Gun".
Roll suffers at times from its own variety, but that's just nitpicking - it still finished 2004 on a large number of influential Albums Of The Year lists.
After this McCue begins to let loose with some of her guitar heroics: `Hangman' is one of the album's highpoints; `Roll' is a medium-tempo rocker straight out of the Girl Monstar stylebook; `Ghandi' has some lovely menacing guitar; on `Ballad Of An Outlaw Woman' McCue displays plenty of slide, which is perhaps her greatest joy.
