The normally calm waters of Seoul�s Han River came under assault on Saturday as 23 of the world�s best wakeboarders threw down everything they had in the Asian X Games 2005 Wakeboard Final.
The Asian X Games presented by KIA, one of three major action sports competitions in the world, will be heading to Seoul for the first time.
Today at the Huamak Indoor Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, fourteen of the best action sports athletes in the world kicked off the inaugural Thailand X Games Cup at the stadium where the event will be held March 25-27.

The Basketball Association of Singapore (BAS) and the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) today confirmed the formation of the Singapore Cup 2005– an Asian professional club basketball tournament to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, May 6-8, 2005.
The winners of the first two games on May 6 will progress to the Singapore Cup Final on May 8 while the other two teams will play a Consolation Final on the same day.
“The NBL is really honoured to have a team from the Philips Championship participate in the Singapore Cup 2005, especially as this event marks the first time teams of this calibre have competed here in Singapore since the Merlion Cup in 1996,” said Rick Burton, Commissioner of the NBL.

 Singapore gives up 2007 SEA Games
Prior to 2007, Thailand is scheduled to host the 2004 ASEM Youth Games, with possibly as many as 8000 athletes under the age of 18 from Europe and Asia competing, and the inaugural Asian Indoor Games in 2005.
Singapore has confirmed that they will not have their national stadium and other facilities ready in time for the 2007 South East Asian games and have withdrawn as hosts.
Thailand has been asked by the SEA Games Federation to step in as alternate hosts.

The National Basketball League's Sydney Kings will play the opening game of their 2005 Singapore Cup campaign tonight when they face the Chinese Basketball Association's (CBA) Beijing Ducks and towering former NBA centre Mengke Bateer at 8:30pm (local) at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Kings, as the current NBL title holders, are representing the Philips Championship and Australia at the event, which is a professional Asian club basketball tournament featuring some of the best teams from around the region.
Bateer, who started as centre for China in both the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games, is the tallest player in the Singapore Cup and is expected to pose a significant challenge to Brian Goorjian's Kings team.
