The 2005 Bahrain Grand Prix was a Formula One race held from April 1 to April 3 2005 at Bahrain International Circuit.
The 2005 Bahrain Grand Prix was only the second Formula One grand prix held in the Middle East, bringing the challenges of high temperatures and dusty conditions.
The race was the hottest-ever F1 grand prix to that point, with air temperatures of 42°C and track temperatures of up to 56°C. As the field set off on the final parade lap Christian Klien was left behind with an electrical problem and never took the race start.

The Bahrain Grand Prix, sponsored by Gulf Air, made history as the first Formula One Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East.
Bahrain fought off fierce competition from elsewhere in the region to stage the race, with Egypt, Lebanon and UAE all hoping for the prestige of hosting a Formula One Grand Prix.
Bahrain is not yet interested on building a new grand prix track, especially because it has been in the F1 calendar for only three years.
