The officials do seem to let them play when it comes playoff time, but the Broncos seem to collect their fair share of fines for being physical during the regular season.
When the Broncos won this year and when they were hot late in the season it was when they were running the ball and Portis (or Q) was dominating games.
To whit: Why is it that yesterday New England could clobber receivers who are "defenseless" (as the NFL rule describes it) left and right and draw nary a second look but in the regular season, the Broncos (and I'm sure other teams) drew flags, fines and suspensions for the same type of hits?
