The ICC Trophy is an international one-day cricket tournament run under the auspices of the International Cricket Council.
The 2005 ICC Trophy took place in Ireland, and the top five of the 12 competing teams will be granted One-day International status for matches amongst themselves and against the 10 ICC full members and Kenya.
This status will need to be renewed at the next ICC Trophy tournament in 2009 for all six of the associate members (including Kenya).

 XTRAMSN: ICC Trophy Venues Announced
The eighth ICC Trophy will bring together 12 teams to contest 42 matches at 25 venues, a record for an ICC event, in the first half of July.

The International Cricket Council announced the fixtures for the eigth edition of the ICC Trophy Ireland 2005, which has on offer five berths for the next World Cup in 2007.
Launching the tournament, ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed said, "It is 25 years since Sri Lanka beat Canada in the final of the first ICC Trophy in England and on the occasion of this event's Silver Jubilee there is more at stake for the 12 participating teams than ever.
"As well as competing for the prestigious ICC Trophy, this event is about the five remaining places at the next ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies," Speed said in an ICC statement.
