In fact it is you, and the corporate-whore architectural firms which you represent, that are worthy of scorn, having sold your soul to corporate architecture, high-end real estate development, and the "business of architecture".
Architecture, in its most pure and elemental form, is about truly beautiful and thought provoking design, not economy or ease in construction.
Landscape architecture program is too new to tell; sustainable program is very technical and oriented toward theory and math, rather than being hands-on or practical, with the exception of the schools participation in the Solar Decathlon and the occasional DesignBuild program.

 ArchitectureWeek - 2006.0920
In the new Business School for Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in New Zealand, the architecture firm JASMAX has designed a northwest facade that puts on a visual show in response to the daily sun path.
Completed in July 2005, the 114,000-square-foot (10,600-square-meter) building is 10 stories high, with a public entry and cafe on the ground floor, classrooms on the next six floors, and offices on the top three.
According to JASMAX project director Euan Mac Kellar, a less tangible part of the program was that the building should serve as a gateway between central city of Auckland and the AUT campus, ensuring that citizens could use campus facilities while the students enjoyed exposure to the local business community.

 Portland Architecture: August 2005
Stylistically, the totems and their greater Pop Art context can be likened to the postmodern architectural movement that more or less crested around the same time (give or take a decade), making Tikitotmoniki a cousin of the gaudy Portland Building downtown, with its faux garland-clad, birthday gift-like façade.
Designed by Sienna Architecture, the nine-story metal and glass building on Northeast Holladay (a half-block east of Martin Luther King Boulevard) was a pioneering effort that succeeded architecturally (it’s well scaled and proportioned) but may have been a little too far ahead of its time when it came to housing in the Lloyd District.
Sienna Architecture’s Cascade Condominiums was built years ago but has not done especially well attracting tenants, despite being an attractive building right on the MAX line with a station a few feet away.
