Considering the span of history of the Egyptian civilization, this is but a "breath on a mirror".
We are told it was "constructed" (well...maybe) during the reign of the Pharaoh Khufu circa 2.500 BC (almost 4,000 years ago!) in the era known as the "Old Kingdom" (see above chart for clarification).
This colossus is composed primarily of limestone blocks ranging anywhere from two to over seventy tons each (picture the larger stones being as heavy as a Locomotive!), with the inner chambers of the pyramid lined with polished red granite.
