Open Cluster NGC 2175 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NGC 2175 is at a distance of about 6,350 light years away from Earth.
Open Cluster NGC 2175 (also known as GC 136 or NGC 2175) is an open cluster in the Orion constellation.

 NGC 2174
NGC 2175 is the open cluster of stars (8 in nebula - Dreyer).
Note the bright knot of gas (IC 2159) surrounding a star to the lower left of the bright blue star and also the small reflection nebula in the upper left center.

 NGC 2174
Measuring some 40 x 30 arc minutes surrounding a 7.5 magnitude star, the nebula is associated with the open cluster NGC 2175.
It lies very close to the border with Gemini, only two degrees southwest of supernova remnant IC 443, and four degrees due south of open cluster M35.

NGC 2637 (which see), found by Marth the same night, also suffers from a declination error of 8 arcmin of the same sign, though the RA is only off by 6 seconds.
NGC 2428 is clearly a cluster that matches WH's description (and his position), and I could easily imagine that it could be stumbled across independently on different nights.
The position for NGC 2237 given by Swift in his second list of nebulae actually comes from Barnard, though it is about 45 seconds of time west of the center of gravity of the western part of the Rosette to which it refers.

Short Night with the Shorttube 80, 30 December 1999
NGC 2976 was more compact, a small moderately faint disc.
NGC 3077 was located very close to two stars, and appeared as a fairly large faint haze.
The small bright knot of nebulosity in one of its arms, NGC 604, was visible with averted vision.

NGC 2683 in Lynx was rather tough, in the same field as a quadrangle of 10th and 11th mag stars, and I needed averted vision to confirm it.
NGC 2841, in western Ursa Major, was much easier, forming a right-angled triangle with a 9th and 11th mag field star.
I took another look at NGC 1502 in the ETX and the nearby star stream of Kemble’s Cascade in the finder, although I must admit that binoculars give a better view of the Cascade.

 Views of ORION
NGC 2175 This cluster is marked as a large cluster on the south side of the NGC 2174 nebula.
NGC 1999 in 25" and 16mm is as large as the field of view and has several striations of light blue within the grey nebulosity.
NGC 1662 Pretty bright, pretty large, not rich, not compressed, cluster of 19 stars with several nice pairs at 100X.

Optically, this complex is dominated by HD 42088, the blue star east of center in the mosaic, at the heart of the nebula NGC 2175.
NGC 2024, also known as the Flame Nebula, is located at a distance of 400-500 pc and is part of the Orion Molecular Cloud Complex (Orion B).

A belépés még nappal fog történni, a fenti idõpontban 41 fok magasan a kilépés fog bekövetkezni a világos oldalon, miközben a Nap még csak 5 fokkal lesz a horizont alatt.
December 10-én 20:50-21:57 között a 100%-os Hold ismét az NGC 1647 csillagait fedi.

 NGC 2175
Cluster NGC 2175 is associated with a diffuse nebula, also numbered NGC 2175 and including nebula NGC 2174.
Cluster NGC 2175 is listed in the Sky Catalogue 2000.0 as of 18' diameter, and total magnitude 6.8.
The NGC decribes it as extremely faint, but on photos it is comparatively bright.

 Reddening
The total (internal plus Galactic) reddenings toward the ionized gas in NGC 5929 and NGC 2110 have been estimated by comparing the observed Balmer decrements with the expected Case B values.
1998 ]) have determined an upper-limit to the hydrogen column density to the southwest radio lobe of NGC 5929 (which coincides with the cloud A we are studying) using 21 cm observations.
For NGC 2110, all the nominal reddening values derived from the Balmer line ratios indicate a total obscuration of A

[105.03] 2MASS, MSX, and DSS Images of M17 and NGC 2175: Low-Mass Star Formation in Dense H II Region Environments
M17 and NGC 2175 are only two examples of a complete survey we are putting together of low-mass star formation in H II regions.
We present 2MASS, MSX, and DSS data of two H II regions, M17 and NGC 2175, which are part of a statistical sample of embedded clusters in star formation regions within 2 kpc of the Sun.
MSX colors are also used to identify the embedded clusters, PAH emission, and ionization fronts.
