Divisions involved in combat were 2nd, 5th, 8th, 9th, 11th and 14th Panzer Division.
In February of 1942, 25th Panzer Division was formed at Eberswalde and in Norway and from October of 1943, it served exclusively on the Eastern Front.
Panzer Division "Clausewitz" / "Schlesien" was formed in February of 1945 as "Kampgruppe Holstein" from units of 233rd Panzer Division.

Within striking distance of the coast were five first-class divisions: the 21st Panzer Division with an estimated 350 tanks, the 12th SS with 150 tanks, the Panzer Lehr Division in the Le Mans area and two more tank divisions in the Seine.

The 21st Panzer was still in France when the Allies launched their invasion of Normandy in June of 1944, and the division was thrown into action against the Allied positions as the only Panzer unit to do so on the 1st day of the attack, June 6th.
The 21st Panzer was then used in the Southern Sector of the Western Front until it was pulled from the lines to refit and reform in Germany in August, 1944.
In Early 1945, the 21st Panzer was used in a drive on Strasbourg, and was then shifted to the Eastern Front in February, 1945 where it fought in defensive actions until being taken by the Soviets later in April, 1945.

Reconstituted in France (1943) and remained there for rehabilitation and garrison duty until the Allied landings at Battle of Normandy (1944), whereupon it was heavily engaged in the fighting at the Normandy beachheads, being the only Panzer division to engage the Allies on the first day.

Panzer Commander offers an element I first became familiar with in Sierra's Aces of the Deep -- the ability to "trade" up your current vehicle (vessel) when a new one becomes available.
No description of Panzer Commander would be complete without mentioning one of the game's best features, a detailed mission editor that let players create their own scenarios from scratch.
Panzer Commander is not a perfect game (as indicated in the review's criteria section on the next page), but it does offer simmers quite a complete package -- great graphics, multiplayer options, and a powerful mission editor.

Third Place- 12th SS Panzer Division "Hitler Jugend"- Now, I know a lot of people will say, "what about "Wiking" or "Totenkopf" they were better!", and these people may very well be right.
Formed from the 5th Leichte Division this was also known as the "Afrika Division." It would only make sense that I choose this one for as far as I know, I'm the closest thing we have to a North Africa/Rommel expert.
All of the Waffen-SS Panzer Divisions fought well and were often in the thick of battle, no matter what front they fought on.
