Before, I was dividing the number by half the number, then by half the number minus one, then by half the number minus 2, etc. until I divided the number by one.
I also added the feature that writes the current number to a disk file when the program is closed and resumes from this number the next day upon starting the program if the user types "Enter" alone in response to the program asking for the starting number.

I guess that 11,220 (source, pdf) is too big a number to report.
Of these, 1361 died, 1004 of them killed in action; 5174 were wounded in action and could not return to duty; and 4191 were less severely wounded and returned to duty within 72 hours.
