  23rd Street Grounds - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
23rd Street Grounds, also known as State Street Grounds, was a baseball park located in Chicago, Illinois.
The ballpark was home to the Chicago White Stockings of the National Association from 1874 to 1875 and remained their home when they joined the National League in 1876, through 1877.
The ballpark was on a block bounded by 23rd Street, State Street, 22nd Street (now Cermak Road) and what is now Federal Street.

Union Base-Ball Grounds was one of several names applied to a baseball park located in Chicago, Illinois.
The ballpark was very visibly downtown, on a small block bounded by Michigan Avenue on the west, Randolph Street on the north, and railroad tracks and the then much closer lakeshore on the east.
They renewed play in 1874 at 23rd Street Grounds which was their home for four years.

 Ogden Rails, Street Railroads
Street railroads started in Ogden in 1883 with the formation of the Ogden City Railway on August 23 of that year.
Another line was to intersect the first two at Main Street (later Washington Avenue, then Washington Boulevard) Street and extend from the south limits to the north limits of the city, which were then at the Ogden River - for a total of five miles of street railway.
Ogden Electric Railway was organized on November 28, 1890, for the purpose of operating a street railway "along, upon and through the streets and public thoroughfares of Ogden City, and along, over, and upon the public highways of Weber County." The company soon made preparations to electrify its newly acquired system.

 County Grounds
Details about the acquisition of the ground from the Curran family who farmed in the area are obscure, but after it was purchased by the late and very famous Dan Fraher, it was used specifically for athletics and gaelic games.
The huge crowd in the ground were bewildered by the magic of the performers, but there was no joy for Waterford who were heavily defeated, but now the Shandon field was established.
Back in the early part of the century, the ground was availed of as a meeting place for republican groups who were able to convene there while matches were in progress.

Street rodding is a rather intimate sport, and during the Nationals the enthusiast has the once a year opportunity to visit with and get first hand information about the products from the suppliers.
Each year the street rod parts and equipment manufacturers develop many new items to advance the "state-of-the-art" of street rodding, and this is the National Street Rod Association's way of showing appreciation to all of the manufacturers for their development efforts.
Those entering their street rod in the non-competitive Under 21 Show will receive a 2002 commemorative T-shirt and dash plaque, along with a "goodie bag", and will be eligible for a special drawing which will take place at the Under 21 Show location.

The memo gets its name from Downing Street in London, where the official residence of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (at 10 Downing Street) is located.

The ground was enlarged and reopened on 26th Feb 1850 although it was still very small and there was no stand.
It was described as having a 240y "broad and hard gravel walk" (circuit) and a 130y sprint straight in the centre of the ground.
