The 25 pounder was used in combat during the Battle of Mirbat in 1972 in Oman.
The 25 pounder was the main field artillery gun used by British Commonwealth infantry divisions during the Second World War.
However the 25 pdr was nevertheless considered by all to be one of the best artillery pieces in use, and in particular its HE round was particularly deadly due to excellent embrittlement of the metal casing.

The 25 pounder had a firing rate of five rounds per minute which was too slow if the patrol needed immediate suppressive fire to cover a withdrawal.
Of course one of the wonderful attributes of the 25 pounder is that like the German 88, it was often employed as a direct fire weapon!

Put into reserve during the inter-war era, some were converted into the famed 25 Pounder design, while many others were re-activated for training or coastal defence.
During the First world war, the 18 pounder was operated by the Royal Field Artillery along with the 13-pounder.

25 pounders they were called that because they fired a 25 pound shell later on they changed its name to a 105 howitzer.
Used to fire those in my younger days,this one overlooks the Swan river in Perth West Aus.

What subassmeblys are there as I am starting with for a Taimya Ford Fat-2 (Quad Gun Tractor) Limber and 25 Pounder Kit?
The breech block of the 25 pounder would not be Olive or Khaki drab, flish gunmetal colour.
If you are building a NW Europe Theatre vehicle you could paint it in the "Mickey Mouse" pattern of British and Commonwealth vehicles.

The bass weighed 25 pounds, 1 ounce on a hand-held scale, which – if approved – would shatter the world record, the 22-pound, 4-ounce bass caught by George W. Perry at Montgomery Lake in Georgia in 1932.
The catch will have to be approved by the International Game Fish Association.
