	2MBS-FM
		2MBS is Australia’s first licensed FM radio station (1974), and broadcasts fine music - 24 hours a day 7 days a week - to the whole of the Sydney metropolitan basin and beyond.
		Known as the classical music connoisseurs’ radio station, 2MBS is a non-profit organisation; volunteer-run (with only a handful of staff); predominantly subscriber supported; and reaches approximately 160,000 listeners a week.
		2MBS develops young talent through two youth development schemes: its Young Performers Award, which culminates in the national finals held on a yearly basis; and its Young Composers Award, which is also run annually, in conjunction with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra.

	informitv - BT broadband speed increase enables video services
		BT has announced an upgrade of its standard broadband offering to 2Mbs and says that it is planning to launch a video-on-demand service, but not until late 2005 or early 2006.
		Asked about the next generation of broadband services, he said that the standard 2Mbs service that had been announced was adequate for a lot of services, including video telephony and “a number of other interactive services we can provide”.
		Ian Livingston noted that “The UK is different from other markets because we have the most advanced digital terrestrial television and the most advanced interactive satellite provider in the world.” As a result, he suggested that changed the economics in comparison with other countries such as France or Italy.

		The finals were comprised of 6 finalists with pre-recorded performances broadcast on 2mbs FM.
		Two violinists, two pianists a soprano singer and myself a classical guitarist competed for the title of 2mbs young performer of the year.
