Card game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It consists of 52 cards, each card having a suit (one of spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs) and a rank (a number between 2 and 10, or one of jack, queen, king and ace).
This is done by dealer holding the pack, face-down, in one hand, and removing cards from the top of it with her other hand to distribute to the players, placing them face-down on the table in front of the players to whom they are dealt.
When the deal is complete, all players pick up their cards and hold them in such a way that the faces can be seen by the holder of the cards but not the other players.

 Rules of Brag
While Three Card Brag is a game in which large sums of money can be won or lost, the variations with more cards, which have become popular recently, are milder games in which the stake cannot escalate so easily.
Cards must at never be shown to any player other than the person to whom they were dealt, unless the betting ends with a "see".
At the end of the betting the cards of the last player left in, or the cards of the two players involved in the see, are added to the pack in the same way.

Gambling Guide > Cards > Card Games > Cribbage
Each player in turn plays a card, (the dealer is last to play), stating the total as he goes (face cards count as 10, aces as 1).
The highest possible score in six card cribbage is 29, for a holding of 5, 5, 5, J with a turn-up of a 5 of the same suit as the Jack.
There are certain cards and card combinations that are likely to be beneficial to a hand, so a non-dealer should try to keep them in his hand and the dealer should try to keep any good combinations together, either in his hand or in the crib.

 # :: Brag
Brag is seldom played with what Poker players know as table stakes (where players keep the money they are playing with on the table for everyone to see and cannot introduce extra money into the game except between hands and with the agreement of all the players).
A wild card can be used to represent any card in the pack, but if two hands are otherwise equal, a hand without wild cards will beat a hand containing one or more wild cards, and a hand with fewer wild cards will beat a hand with more of them.
A change in variation (what cards are wild; whether blind betting is allowed; whether three four or five cards are dealt) can be dictated by the dealer; changing to a different card game, such as from brag to Indian Poker, would have to be agreed by majority of players.

Three card and five card brag were the most popular, named thus because that is how many cards each player was dealt.

Looking at the cards the player has to make a decision about playing the game — s/he has to either bet Play which is an equal stake to Ante or quit (Fold) — then the player loses Ante stake.
The croupier gives the player three cards and if they make a pair or a higher set, then the winnings is paid according to the rates (flush is lower than straight because it is easier to get it, an Ace can be 1 or 11 and the highest straight flush is A-K-Q).
In this cards Q will be the first card, then 6 and next 4 — such set is obviously stronger than Q,6,3 set or Q,5, 4 set; but it will lose with Q,7,2 or Q,6,5.

Three card brag is an unusual British card game which is similar to poker but varies in betting style and hand rankings.
Three card brag was played in the movie Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels directed by Guy Ritchie.
Unless a hand is seen and won by a prial, the cards from the hand are just placed on the bottom of the deck, and the next hand is dealt without shuffling.

CARDSHARK Online - marked cards   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-23)
Completely marked cards have covert markings that enable you to determine the value and suit of the card -- the markings are encoded into the pattern on the card backs.
For card games involving more than three cards per hand, the odds against being able to cheat rise exponentially by a factor of between 2 and 6 times each extra card included in a hand, depending on whether or not other players cards show the same markings.
For example, a 27-fold degenerate deck (2 different markings, 27 cards of each marking) would be virtually impossible to read except by an impeccable 'card-counter' with perfect memorization, and then only towards the end of play in games where a hand or a series of hands (Bridge) continue through the entire deck before re-shuffling.

With four players, everyone is guaranteed fresh cards if they draw replacements; with more, it may be necessary to use previously-discarded ones, so five or six players is considered the practical limit of single-decked Bouré.
The nearest leftmost player to the dealer starts by playing any card from their hand (with few exceptions); rules of play are as follows, and a lower-numbered rule overrides any higher-numbered one.
This goes beyond simply 'playing a higher card;' if you know that no one else has any trumps, and it is your turn to lead, you must play trumps if you have them.

Rules of Card Games: Multiple Card Brag
This is not 3 card Brag where one merely throws away one card to play conventional 3 card Brag, but uses tricks of 4 cards and so can have the multiples of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 cards for 2 players.
Hence, from the pack of 52 cards + 3 more (2 jokers + one bridge score card), 21 cards each are dealt to 2 players and each discards one card.
5 tricks of 4 cards each are then assembled in rank order from the 20 cards in each hand, and placed face down on the table from left to right in decreasing rank order and then played off against each other one by one.

It took a bit of searching, but the game is called 3 card brag, and it's one really fucked-up poker game.
I won't go into all the details of the game, but the other fact that I found extremely interesting is that the cards are not shuffled unless a hand is "'seen' and won by a prial." Unbelievable.
That means that card counting can play a significant role in the game, kind of like seven card stud, but even more so because it would go for multiple hands.

Three Card Poker - 3-card poker info and more
You just need to know that three consecutive cards (like 2-3-4, A-2-3 or Q-K-A, but not 2-A-K) are a straight, three cards in the same suit (like the 2, 5 and 9 of hearts) are a flush and two cards in the same rank (like 4-4) are a pair.
By the way, the order in which your cards arrive doesn't matter in determining whether you have a straight.
Because you can make two different bets, the strategy for 3 card poker depends on whether you want to play against the smallest house percentage or to lose the least amount.

For example, online poker room security employees can look at the "hand history" of the cards previously played by any player on the site, making patterns of behavior easier to detect than in a casino where colluding players can simply fold their hands without anyone ever knowing the strength of their holding.
Internet discussion forums are rife with unproven allegations of non-random card dealing, possibly to favour house-employed players or "bots" (poker playing software disguised as a human opponent), or to give multiple players good hands thus increasing the bets and the rake, or simply to prevent new players from losing so quickly they become discouraged.
However, there is little more than anecdotal evidence to support such claims, and others argue that the rake is sufficiently large that such abuses would be unnecessary and foolish.
