3227a, also known as the Hanko Döbringer hausbuch, from the late fourteenth century.
The 3227a hausbuch details a serious and efficient tradition of fencing with little time for extravagance or pretence.
Interestingly, the author of the hausbuch describes, with scorn, the leychmeistere of the day: masters of play or dancing who sought to impress crowds with extravagant, inefficient and even clownish styles of fencing that were anathema to Liechtenauer’s serious and martially minded disciples.

Based on the knowledge and skill that he had already acquired working with the rapier, he then managed to reconstruct Liechtenauer's system of the Long Sword in a historically valid and martially effective manner.
The works of Peter von Danzig, Sigmund Ringeck, Lew the Jew, and Paulus Hector Mair as well as HS 3227a (Dbringer) form the core for Stefan's longsword research.
Working towards his ultimate aim to achieve a universal understanding of fencing which goes beyond individual weapons, Stefan also researches, studies and practices medieval and renaissance dagger, staff ('Halbe Stange') and 19th century military saber as well as unarmed fighting styles of the 15th and 16th century.

3227a, the pronoun usage is quite different from the later, 15th c.
I'd like to add that I myself find MS 3227a very interesting and a helpful resource indeed, but actually I do not use it as a source to teach from.
Also, again, *only* 3227a has that couplet about stepping to his right, which may or may not have anything to do with Zornhau-Ort, depending on where it belongs, which is not yet clear.

Johannes Liechtenauer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (via CobWeb/3.1 planetlab2.netlab.uky.edu)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
He was likely born in the early to mid 1300s, possibly in Lichtenau, Mittelfranken (Franconia).
What little is known about his person is preserved, together with his teachings, in MS 3227a and later glossa by students of his tradition.
According to this manuscript's author, Lichtenauer was a "great master" who had travelled to "many lands" to learn his art.

Yes -- use Template:Wikisource3 which allows two arguments: display name and link.
The split broke lots of my links, such as the one on 3227a.
Apparently, using de:article_title as the argument of this template works (there is a redirection that is internal to the server, I assume).
