		If there's one thing that's great about 3DMark IMHO, it's that it's made it easier for people to benchmark and compare performance, and that's not an easy thing to do in the PC world.
		For me the best thing about the 3DMark series is that i can use the online comparison to see how people are performing on almost an identical spec to me. Im not at all concerned about the people on uber-systems and how they score because thats irrelevant to me and my system.
		I want to see how the next guy on the same processor, memory and GPU as me is scoring and if hes scoring better why, thats the true beauty of the 3d marks.

		3DMark is on the other hand spits out big chunks of data which none of the customers will encounter in today's games.
		My point still stands ground solid, and that is that 3DMark doesn't provide any idea of how games will perform on a certain GPU, simply because 3DMark is different kind of tool which has nothing to do with today's games nor games to come.
		3DMark does provide an idea of how games will perform on a certain GPU, the fact that both ATi and Nvidia use it to gauge their series of cards is more than enough of a justification.

		Both companies were busy at CeBit this year claiming that their new babies would pass 10k on 3DMark 03 but ATI seemed to be a bit more reserved, claiming that a 10k score would be a peak value rather than an average one.
		The sources that claim nVidia's NV40 has reached the magnificent 12,535 score say that this was achieved using pre-production engineering samples of the chip but raise doubts as to the exact combination of drivers used in order to attain such dizzy heights.
		Unfortunately nVidia's past record with that particular benchmark suite is not reliable enough for everyone to accept such figures without a pinch of salt and many experts suggest that 3DMark 03 is a sucker for nVidia's method of counting pipelines.

		Ever since 3DMark 2001, when it was decided to not score certain tests at all depending on the hardware capability, the 3DMark score attempts to measure, for lack of a better term, the "Goodness" of a 3D system.
		I would say that is indeed a pretty accurate assesment of that 3DMark actually is (measure the "ability" to play current and future games), but I think that message is lost in their own descriptions.
		So all other things aside, if 3DMark could give an realistic outlook of the performance of future games it would be appreciated by a lot of people.

		the highest speed i can run 3dmark at is 215mhz and even there, i get lower fps and lower 3dmarks05 than when it was at 200mhz.
		im just afraid this problem in 3dmark will forshadow problems i will face when these games are installed.
		It could be a multitude of things, but I think your ram could be ok, considering it memtests ok. It could be a bad 3dmark dl, could be the cpu is undervolted, could be your psu isn't throwing enough stable juice...could be a lot of things.

		You cannot launch 3DMark because your system knows how stupid 3DMark is, so it simply saves itself the time and stress of running the stupid program and closes it promptly

		I think it is better to say that I have a AMD rig and some parts of this guide does not include an Intel setup as that system uses another software.
		Before hitting the start bench button in 3dmark, change the priority of the program to realtime in the task manager.
		I would vever got a 3dmark such as my 13200k+ without doing all this and tweaking Rivatuner, and just to be sure, i reinstalled the image and did this all again and i got the same points.
