		Eventually, the advantages of the 4000 series edged out the older TTL chips, but at the same time ever increasing LSI techniques edged out the modular chip approach to design.
		The 4000 series permits the use of " (A book of recipes and cooking directions) cookbook" design, where standard circuit elements can be created and shared, and connected to other circuits with few, if any, connection difficulties.
		It is also much easier to prototype LSI designs using the 4000 series and get repeatable and transferrable results when moving to the more integrated design.

		The Super Coolscan 4000 ED supersedes Super Coolscan 2000, which was also known as the LS2000.
		My Coolscan 4000 and Nikon Scan 3.1 have produced default scans from Kodachrome 25, Fuji Provia F, Fuji Reala and Fuji Velvia that have been, with rare exceptions, close matches with the original slide or negative with color and exposure.
