 Befunge - Befunge
Befunge is a stack-based, reflective, esoteric programming language.
It differs from conventional languages in that programs are arranged on a two-dimensional grid.
Program execution which exceeds these limits "wraps around" to a corresponding point on the other side of the grid; a Befunge program is in this manner topologically equivalent to a torus.

Befunge is a stack-based esoteric programming language which differs from conventional languages in that programs are arranged on a two-dimensional grid.
The language was originally created by Chris Pressey in 1993, as an attempt to devise a language as hard to compile as possible — note that the
Funge-98 programs can also be of unbounded extent; rather than wrapping around at the 80-column mark, a Funge-98 instruction pointer will obey the wrapping rules of what Chris Pressey has dubbed "Lahey-space," a model in which the grid behaves like a torus but still allows arbitrary expansion of the "active" grid area.

In most languages, the instruction pointer always moves in the same direction.
Execution begins at coordinate (0,0,0,0), moving in the positive direction along the X axis (that is, to the right within the slice).

This operation can even be programmed to take place outside of normal periods of database usage.
The database is installed on the main 4D Server machine (operational machine) and an identical copy of the database is installed on the 4D Server mirror machine.
To avoid risks of desynchronization with the operational machine, 4D automatically locks the mirror machine when it is carrying out one of two basic operations: the integration of the log file from the operational machine and the backup of the mirror database.

In this demonstration, there are some interactive assets created in the Java programming language that are displayed around the video, which allows viewers, using their remote control, to pull down information on demand about those groups.
It means they don't have to re-author or re-enable those applications on a particular platform; they can write it once and run it across all of their set-tops.
I think once you've learned object-oriented programming using the Java programming language, you have the basic building blocks to move forward with Java TV technology in terms of how to write an application that utilizes the API.

The 4DL programming language is special because its source code is written in four dimensions.
Instead of Cliff's fancy graphic spreadsheet-like representation, which would be quite impossible to read in, I devised a system where two-dimensional blocks of code are used in combination with interpreter directives that change the coordinate of the 3rd or 4th dimension you are in.
This is because Cliff's program does not contain any output instructions, not because I changed the language or my interpreter is badly coded (not that it isn't, but that's not the cause of this problem.) I'm listing the problem here anyhow, so nobody will think it's my fault.
