  52nd Artillery Group - Vietnam War
The 52nd Artillery Group was organized as the 52nd Artillery Regiment, and was assigned to France during World War 1.
In June of 1950 it was reactivated as the 52nd Artillery Group and stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where it activated and trained units for world-wide deployment of the huge 280mm "Atomic Artillery" weapon.
52nd Group's commander at the time of stand-down was Colonel James M. Wroth, who accepted, on behalf of the unit, the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Vietnamese Valorous Unit Award.

  British 52nd (Lowland) Division - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The division moved to Egypt where it manned the east-facing defensive fortifications during the Battle of Romani but was not heavily involved in the fighting which was concentrated on the Australian light horse and New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade to the south.
In March, 1918 the division moved to France where it fought in the 2nd Battles of the Somme, the 2nd Battles of Arras and at the Hindenburg Line.
Although the division was disbanded after the war, the division's number and traditions were later embodied in the 52nd Lowland Regiment, a Territorial Army unit.

At the time of the battle, his available forces comprised two British infantry divisions (the 42nd Division and the 52nd (Lowland) Division) and the Anzac Mounted Division, under General H.G. Chauvel, containing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Australian Light Horse Brigades, the New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade and the 5th Mounted Brigade (British Yeomanry).
In July, 1916, the commander of the northern sector of the canal defences, General Sir H.A. Lawrence, had the 52nd Division entrenched on the eastern edge of the Romani sand hills and was using the mounted brigades to patrol the oasis to the east.
The 52nd Division incurred 195 of these casualties, the rest came from the Australian and New Zealand mounted regiments.

52nd Lowland Regiment is the senior Infantry Volunteer Regiment of the British Army and it traces its lineage to the Battalions of the former 52nd Lowland Division.
This Division was the only completely Territorial Division to fight in the Second World War, which trained as a Mountain Division and fought with distinction in Holland and Germany until its battalions were disbanded from regular service at the end of the war.
Throughout the cold war era of the 70s and 80s, the 1st Battalion of 52nd Lowland Volunteers (1/52), based in Glasgow and the west lowlands, trained for the NATO reinforcement role whilst the 2nd Battalion (2/52), based in Edinburgh and the east, trained for home defence.
