Between February and April 1915 the brigade temporarily moved to the 28th Division, swapping with the 84th Brigade.

The Division crossed the German border, 4 December, captured Lauterbach on the 5th, and elements reached the west bank of the Saar, 6 December, before the Division moved to assembly areas.
On the 16th of December the Germans launched their winter offensive, and on the 18th the 5th was thrown in against the southern flank of the Bulge, helping to reduce it by the end of January 1945.

The KIMH does indicate that the 5th Division was activated on May 12, 1949 and was commanded by Brig.
The Division was located at Kwangju and consisted of the 15th and 20th Regiments.

The "HURRICANE PATROLLERS" had been replaced by Co. D (LRRP) 151st Infantry, an Indiana National Guard unit activated during the Vietnam conflict, and it's assets were used to form Companies O and P of the 75th Infantry.
